Rooms For Living

March 14, 2011

It appears that I have living rooms on the brain, possibly due to the fact that I spent the entire evening yesterday in mine building Ikea furniture. I have almost everything built but I need to do a little rearranging to complete the project. I am thrilled with the transformation taking place.

This shot is from a home that was converted from the basement of an old commercial building. I found it extremely impressive how they took a vast, empty, windowless space and made it so livable. Via Mixr.se.

Not really sure how I feel about the big black mobile, but otherwise this room is sophisticated and sleek. Simon Watson via desire to inspire.

This looks like the perfect place to spend an entire day lounging. Betsy Burnham via Houzz.

Always inspired by highly stylized Scandinavian rooms. Despite its appealing look, I must admit this sitting area doesn’t come off as very cozy. Elisabeth Aarhus via desire to inspire.

This is one of my favorite lofts I’ve ever seen. The colors and textures make this cavernous space warm and inviting. Via emmas designblogg via Milk.

I am passionately in love with the Saarinen Womb Chair. Every time I go on Craigslist the first thing I do is a search for this chair. The long stemmed calla lilies complement her so well. Dijeau Poage Construction via Houzz.

I like that kitty picture in the first one.

I really like that big mobile, but I guess I would.
