Decorate With Gold

September 2, 2011

It’s been a long time since I did a product round-up. I’m constantly bookmarking items that catch my eye, and its fun to see trends emerge. For example, I may just have a bit of an obsession with gold at the moment. Gold and other metallics have a strong presence in current interior design, and in fact mixing metallics is a fun trend that can have show-stopping results if done well. I love how gold has the quality of a color but can also read as a neutral. And of course it’s also a bit glam, which can be a really exciting element to introduce to your home.

  1. Dotted 23k Gold Plate ($32) and Mug ($48)
  2. Martina Aged Mirror Table Lamp Base ($49.99)
  3. Herend Curious Cat ($175)
  4. Urban Legend Vase ($550)
  5. Antique Coffee Table
  6. Dauville Gold-Brushed Nesting Bowls (up to $55)

Which is your favorite? I really love the Herend kitty. I had seen vintage Herend rabbits here and there but only recently discovered that they have a huge selection of other animals on their website. I also have a big crush on the Urban Legend Vase which is of course the most expensive thing on the list. I don’t think I could ever bring myself to spend half a grand on a vase. Could you?

Have a great weekend!

Definitely the Urban Legend Vase. As you said, it’s the most expensive but it’s GORGEOUS and the deconstructed aspect of it is so intriguing.
