The Case for Colorful Bathrooms

October 24, 2011

I believe that too many people (myself included) are too quick to choose neutral colors. Yes, neutral is safe, especially when you know you’ll have to sell the place down the road. But at least for me, the spaces I am most entranced by lately always use color in some bold way. It doesn’t necessarily have to be with the wall color, either. For example, while the bright green hue on these walls certainly adds to the space, the gorgeous blue tapestry and beautiful purple rug create enough colorful drama on their own. Green, white, and wood brown are a classic combination. These brilliant green tiles completely make the space. Via My Favorite and My Best.

While this bathroom is mostly neutral, the shiny metallic of the tub and mirror are certainly not ordinary, and the pink towels add a touch of cheeriness. Via little blue deer.

The bathroom usually gets the shaft when it comes to artwork. Have you considered hanging an art collection in your bathroom? Lonny via House & Home.

Again, this bathroom is almost entirely neutral with it’s lovely white subway tile on the walls and penny tile on the floors. All it takes are some fabulous brass accessories and hardware to glam things up, and an invigorating shock of orange becomes a show-stopper. Via The Beautiful Soup.

Okay, now forget everything I just said about color. Haha. For all my love of vibrancy, there is a time and place for zen-like calm interiors like these last three I have for you today. Via Haute Design.
