Decoration Inspiration – Especially Frame Groupings

November 1, 2011

Hi! I hated to not post yesterday since I normally do on Mondays, but it just was not in the cards. I’ve been busy with a project at work (that I think is pretty much wrapped up now) and then my laptop started acting up something fierce. It’s running slow in general, and Google Chrome keeps crashing for no apparent reason. I have had this laptop since 2005 with only minor repairs and upkeep so the fact that it still works as well as it does is really a blessing. Perhaps the speed issue could be addressed with more RAM? I’m sort of clueless when it comes to this stuff.

Today let’s take a look at some nice decorating details.

Halloween has come and gone but the autumnal season has some time yet. Since being a homeowner for about a year and  half the only seasonal decorating I’ve tackled is a small amount for last Christmas. I hope to add a little bit here and there every year. I’m not interested in going and spending a wad of cash so I can completely deck my house out for every holiday, but I like the idea of purchasing a new item or two every year. Images like the one above are very comforting to me as you can see it does not take much at all to create a seasonal atmosphere. From the home of Anna-Malin Lindgren via decor8.

There are a lot of frame groupings in this post. I seem to be drawn to them! Old Brand New via Savvy Home.

This is just so dang cute. Lovely use of caramels with soft blue and pinches of happy color. By Danielle T on Flickr.

Notice how the two rather large surfaces of this table do not have to be completely filled with objects. Some well chosen and well placed items create balance and interest without lots of clutter. By debee{art} on Flickr.

This photo has been styled for a photo shoot and is not a home, but I appreciate it for its use of materials and wonderful composition. Leather, wood, plastic, metal, stone… all appear to be happily coexisting here and I find it invigorating. Photographed by Fritz Hansen via Schöner Wohnen.

Is that ceiling black? IS. That ceiling. BLACK?! I’m in love. Rue Magazine via interiors porn.

I’m giddy over this little collection on the wall. Especially the frame-less tree piece and tiny little birds. The home of Caroline Scheeler, photographed by Roger Davies for Country Living.
