Dining Rooms (Also, I Got Hacked)

November 18, 2011

I had a new experience this morning. Getting hacked. And let me tell you, it is no fun at all. Fortunately it was just one of my email accounts and very fortunately I was still able to access it to change the password.

How long has it been since you changed your passwords? Probably too long if you’re like me. Even if you’ve gone years unaffected, hackers can strike at any moment! I sound like a movie trailer but seriously, go change your passwords. And check out this interesting and amusing comic strip about password strength.

And now for what you come here expecting to see (as opposed to public service announcements about the dangers of hackers).

Oh to have a view like that from the dining room table. From the looks of it that chandelier is pretty awesome, don’t you think? Photographed by Robert Sanderson for House to Home, via nicety.

That giant head on the floor is incredibly creepy. And in combination with the zebra hide it makes this room feel like a place things go to get skinned or decapitated. I am not opposed to animal hide rugs, but this just doesn’t feel right. However… for some reason I liked the room enough to share it with you. I suppose it must be the Eames chairs, curvy table, ornate mirror, and dramatic floor lamp. Via Marie Claire Maison.

Love the color in this shot! Via interiors porn.

Pretty, clean, and playful. I’d happily dine in this room! Photographed by Stefan Thurmann via Schöener Wohnen.

Hacking — ugh. I change mine periodically because both my husband and I used to work in computer security before. What a violation! 🙁
