Delicious Decorative Details

I can not believe Christmas is this Sunday already! December has flown by. Thank goodness I got all of my gift buying taken care of in November. There will probably be at least one Christmas-themed post this week but for today I’ve gathered some great images of decorative details.

A beautiful shade of blue coordinates with the deep green lamp base. Quite a luxurious Oriental flair in this room. Photographed by Russell Smith.

I will pass on the snake-skin bench, but I adore the rug. The home of Ashley Stark photographed by Eric Piasecki for Elle Decor via shop talk.

First of all, those doors are beautiful. Second, I’m really not a fan of zebra rugs, but to each his own. And third, I adore the golden brassy lines of the bench and frames. Very on trend. Designed by Jan Showers.

This stunning shot and several more from the same home have been popping up all over the blogosphere, and I really could not resist joining in. I don’t know if I can even say anything about it, because it really takes my breath away. Let’s just take a moment and admire instead of listening to me blather on. This is very my style. As long as there’s more color in the room elsewhere, I’d say this is perfection. Well, and the art isn’t exactly my taste but the same look could be achieved with a collection of my own. My favorite part: the red-orange stripe along the perimeter of the upholstered bench. The deep blue table runner provides a wonderful base on which this space has been styled. Really an excellent example of how to make a charming vignette. Photographed by Teri Lyn Fischer via desire to inspire.

I love this shade of blue for a wall color. Pops of color and texture in simple objects are an easy and lovely way to decorate. Styled by James Leland Day via desire to inspire.
