Dining Rooms & Happy Holidays!

December 23, 2011

I was reaching to unlock my car this morning and abruptly paused to stand still for a moment. “Why is it so quiet?” I thought to myself. It was downright eerie, like real calm before the storm stuff. Until I realized that it’s Friday and two days before Christmas and a whole slew of people probably have today off and are still soundly asleep.

My holiday weekend will be a nice balance of time off and work. I’ll be making a day trip out to the Chicago area on the 26th to see some extended family including my new first cousin once removed which I’m really excited about. And yes, I did just use the proper term for my cousin’s child, and a horribly cumbersome term it is.

Due to my travels you will not see me here on Monday. I’m really looking forward to seeing family and exchanging gifts and nomming good food!

I’m pretty obsessed with basically everything in this shot. Plush rug, solid wood furniture, pretty art, and that bench. That bench is just so pretty. Don’t you agree? A product shot for the Finley Dining Bench ($1395) by Mitchell Gold + Bob Williams.

I think Kitchens and Dining Rooms are the best rooms in the house! The hub for gathering and eating! Love it!
