Living Room Love

So remember how I was debating what my next home improvement project should be and I was leaning towards remodeling the kitchen? Despite the excitement over the idea, after a few more days of thought I began to feel like I was getting ahead of myself. In order to do that remodel I would have to take out a loan. I am not exactly living paycheck to paycheck, but pretty near. Even one more monthly bill could create a problem. So… sigh… my big plans will have to wait.

Smaller, more manageable projects are now on the brain. I hope to get some drywall repaired, add a coat rack and mirror to my entryway, and do some sprucing up in my full bathroom. Once those things are tackled, I’m thinking I might do something with my living room. It’s the room I spend the most time in so I really should give it more attention.

I’m not so big on yellow, but it works great in this room. Even with dark walls this room feels bright and cheery. Love the art and the rug too. Designed by Barrie Benson via desire to inspire.

A pink sofa and a Beni Ourain Moroccan rug. What more could you want? Designed by Barrie Benson via desire to inspire.

A pretty, soft space. But if I’m being honest, the cat is the best part. Rue Magazine via dustjacket attic.

Oh how expertly these neon colors have been woven into this room. Without them I wouldn’t care for it all. The home of Silje Aune Eriksen, styled by Kirsten Visdal, photographed by Trine Thorsen for Elle Decoration Norway, via my ideal home.

I am kind of enamored with this space. The tall bookcase really does a lot to ground the room and gives it a strong spot of color. Luxurious but livable. I dig it. The home of Isabel Lopez-Quesada, photographed by Simon Watson for Architectural Digest.

  1. You find the best pictures! It sends me on a pinning frenzy every time. Adding small changes until you end up with a finished project always works. It takes longer but it’s fun to watch the design process unfold.
