Let’s continue for a moment with the “kids” theme from yesterday’s post. I was pretty pleased to find these lovely images in my inbox last week. The talented Marie-Laure Bouwens of La Maison de Loulou asked that I share them with you, and I was happy to oblige.
Marie-Laure was born in Paris, France (of course) where she earned a degree in Architecture. She then moved to New York City where she has worked as an architect for many years. In 2008 her daughter Louise was born and the focus of Marie-Laure’s work shifted to kids’ spaces!
The work Marie-Laure shares with us is positively adorable, and strikingly simplistic. Many of the elements she has used look like they could be found around the house or picked up at a craft store. I find such accessible design very inspiring. It showcases the talent of the designer who can create such a lovely space without access to high-end furnishings, and also provides an example to those of us hoping to beautify our own spaces on a budget.
