Busy Monday Breather

June 25, 2012

What a busy Monday this has been! Let’s take a breather and get lost in some lovely detail shots.

Love this little vignette. I wonder if those light bulbs are functioning? I hope so. I like them. Style by Marianne Cotterill.

Okay, not so much a detail shot but I don’t have a category for hallways or entryways so there you have it. I just love the simplicity of this room. Though the size and placement of that rug is bothering me. Country Living via decorology.

Firstly, that credenza is sick. Beautiful wood grain paired with ultra-simple lines; I just love it.  I don’t know if I would ever create a rainbow effect like this with my styling… maybe. It’s certainly charming in this case. And this is a prime example of a portrait that I like but also find quite a bit creepy. There really are an inordinate number of creepy portraits out there. The home of Annabelle Kerslake via Design*Sponge.

One of these days I am going to give in to my desire to have house plants. I just want to be really careful about which ones I bring in. They must be hardy, lovely, and not toxic to cats! Via Design*Sponge.

I’m crazy about that painting, without even being able to see all of it. I just love slightly abstract landscapes, and that’s what it looks to be. Photographed by Patrick Cline, styled by Michelle Adams for Lonny, via dustjacket attic.

Possibly the coziest thing you’ll see today. They’ve expertly repeated the warm colors of red and orange. And those pillows are wonderful. Commune Design via

Love that dark blue wall color! What do you think of it? The gold lampshade is awesome too. The home of Zoe Johns & Max Catalano, photographed by Liz Daly, via Design*Sponge.
