Living Room

I’m developing an eye twitch.

June 29, 2012

I am super super itching for a project. I keep daydreaming about all the things I could do to improve my home, and while in theory I could start seriously planning something, all real work is halted until I get this STUPID ceiling leak problem taken care of. I’ve had this leak in my kitchen ceiling for a very long time. But it’s a slow leak, the kind that doesn’t exactly demand immediate attention but still really needs to be addressed.

I have had a handyman, plumber, contractor, and insurance claims adjuster all look at it… not a single one of them could figure out the source of the leak. Even with the large hole my dad cut out of the drywall to get a better look. I am the owner of the most elusive mind-numbing eye-twitch-causing slow leak on the planet. (Possibly an overstatement.) I am currently waiting to hear back from the contractor who will HOPEFULLY once and for all get in there and just do whatever it takes to find the problem and fix it.

And THEN I can do fun stuff! Assuming that repair doesn’t take all my monies. Derp.

Anyways, I’ve rounded up some sweet living rooms for your eyeballs. Enjoy!

Pretty pretty colors. I’d probably add some more dark colors, but it really is lovely as it is. Sweet pinks and soft blues. Designed by Ashley Whittaker via Savvy Home.

This is like a freaking feast for the senses. Tall ceilings, gorgeous window, textured walls, incredible softness under foot… I mean whoa. I can’t say I would want this whole room in my own home, but it sure is interesting. Styled by Marianne Cotterill via Cain & Markus.

Mmmmmm pink walls. I’m still terrified to ever try it myself, but gosh I love pink walls! Usually. Has to be the right kind of pink. With the right kind of decor. The home of Bailey McCarthy, photographed by Paige Newton, via Design*Sponge.

I’m so in love with this. The tallness, the white with black, the wall of glass, the rug, the sofa, the all of it! Photographed by Prue Ruscoe, styled by Steve Cordony for belle au, scanned by dustjacket attic.
