It’s been almost exactly three months since I put design-vox on hiatus. Last night I suddenly decided I wanted to blog again. It may have something to do with the fresh new year, but the real catalyst was the “Career” aisle of a bookstore that I wandered into. Didn’t purchase a book, nor did I have some epiphany regarding how to find the career of my dreams. As I paged through those crisp paperbacks promising motivation and inspiration to get my life on track to happiness and fulfillment, some wheels inside me began turning.
I still have no idea what the heck I’m doing.
But one thing I do know is that I enjoy writing, and I enjoy interior design.
This blog went on hiatus because I was pursuing what I hoped would be a good supplemental income source with my Etsy shop Curious Home. Then I realized that in order to make even $400 a month (which would allow me to quit one of my day-jobs), I would need to sell nearly 30 items a month. Since opening I’ve averaged about four sales a month. Let’s all have a moment to chuckle at my naivety.
I think it is important for me to feel like I have an opportunity to be creative. And this blog is a clear and rewarding way to do that. So! I’m back. I am contemplating doing some tweaking in both the appearance and content of design-vox. So please pardon my virtual dust if things look a little wonky. Hopefully good things are to come!Flickr via wild nothing. Two // Jose Villa in Provence, France via dustjacket attic.
