My whole life I have been deprived of the opportunity to spout condemnation for this highly-commercialized money-draining holiday that leaves single people feeling particularly mopey. I don’t hate Valentine’s Day because it also happens to be my birthday. I imagine not all holidays are fun to share your birthday with, but Valentine’s Day actually kind of rocks. I never had to experience the aforementioned mopiness when I was single, and now that I’m in a relationship with a wonderful loving boyfriend I get double presents and double doting.
So I apologize if you’re one of the (seemingly many) folks who hate this holiday, ’cause I think it’s sweet and fun and an excuse to embrace excess amounts of pink. Here’s my little V-Day inspired round-up.
