Creating a comfortable and sophisticated bedroom is no easy task. My own bedroom still feels very juvenile with its obvious lack of furniture and quirks like a queen-size duvet on a king-size bed. Oh, how I long for the day when I may have beautiful luxurious bedding, perfectly coordinated textiles, and a refined color palette.
Neutral colors and soft textures make a bedroom that feels like a cozy cave. Of course you know I love color, but when neutrals are done right they sure are tempting. Whenever I get around to buying “real” bedding I’m going to seriously consider fabrics that are naturally and intentionally a little wrinkled and textured, like the blanket here puddling on the floor. I can not stand how wrinkled bedding looks when it is supposed to be crisp. I splurged on what was for me an expensive fitted sheet ($64) after doing hours of research into “wrinkle free” sheets. That purchase pretty much confirmed for me that there is no such thing as wrinkle free sheets. At least not in my price range.
I looove this. It is both sophisticated and playful, feminine and masculine, dramatic yet simple. I love the use of dark colors in design, and it is especially appropriate for the bedroom. When I recently picked out a paint color for the bathroom connected to my bedroom, I also sort of inadvertently picked out a coordinating color for the bedroom. It is a delicious dark navy blue. Here’s hoping I ever get around to actually painting it! And if you’re wondering, I do plan to share the updates I’ve done to my bathroom, I’m just tackling all those little straggling tasks that need to be done before I can really call the project finished. Hopefully within a couple weeks!Like This Post
