Trendy & Cute Children’s Rooms

Of all the places to go a little wild with color and quirk, kids’ rooms are great. Reason #2 why the design-obsessed have babies: you get to decorate a nursery! (I hope you know I say that in jest… partly.) Colors you might not normally consider are suddenly feasible, and you can justify purchasing funky mobiles and animal lamps. (Who am I kidding, animal lamps are almost always justifiable.) The above nursery looks fabulous because the child-like elements are balanced with sophisticated, sleek-lined furniture and a neutral wall.

Clouds: they’re trending. I am not fully on the wall decal train, but I have to admit this cloud wall is freakin’ adorable. This color palette is so good. I don’t know if I could ever be disciplined enough to limit myself to just one color plus a few neutrals like this, but it sure does make things look polished.

Aaand more wall decals. For some reason I am really resistant to them. It just feels too trendy. But would I give in to make a little girl or boy happy? You betcha. It would be much less difficult to sell me on a pink bentwood chair and those pillows. Then again, I don’t ever fix my bed and I doubt my future children will so possibly this many throw pillows would just be asking for a mess. Oo they are cute though! The polka dot wall decals and wonderful pillows are available for purchase in the Empire Lane shop!

  3. About wall decals, I’m with you. I can’t with them. The people who lived in the house before us had wall decals and took them down leaving gross remnants. We have sinced painted over them but I agree. I dunno, something about them…. they remind me of those decals I used to put up in my bedroom window for holidays. About kids rooms, I just love kids rooms that aren’t really KID rooms. I’m all about childish-sophistication, and that’s even in adult rooms. I love the images you chose and am really digging the dark cloud mobile one.
