A Real (Gorgeous) Norwegian Home

March 15, 2011

I just about lost my composure when I found this home owned by Norwegian architect and designer Jeanette Lunde. Totally swooning over its bright and fresh look with the perfect amounts of color.

Exteriors don’t have to be grandiose to be beautiful. This home is already charming and we’re only just at the front door.

Okay, I know what some of you are thinking. All that white! I know it’s a bit much for some people (especially anyone that doesn’t live in Scandinavia, haha) but time and time again I am drawn to this look. There is something so invigorating about it, as long as it is paired with appropriate furniture and decor to keep it from being too stark. That being said, I would like these rooms equally even if the white-washing was toned down a bit, with for example unpainted hardwood floors.

An extra dash of color for a child’s room. And I love the Uglydoll! I totally have him in green.

So what’s the verdict? How do you feel about interiors with so much white? Maybe it’s not your cup of tea but are there other elements of this style that you like? There’s got to be someone out there that loves this as much as I do. Lots more pictures here.
